Omne vivum 1995-1996

Throughout the 1990ís I continued the practice
of developing flexible kits which could be pre-
sented in different ways or adapted to different
localities. Thus the forms of Omne Vivum could
either be hung on wall frameworks or clustered
on the floor.

The inspiration for this installation, shown as a
detail here, came from the practice of hanging
votive health objects (often simply rendered
body parts or fertility symbols cast in wax) in
Catholic churches. Here the forms are meant
to express a primordial ‘life’ essence.
